NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals will be received by the Utah Department of Transportation TJDOTDPS Building (2nd Floor), 4501 South . 2700 West, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84119, until 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 1995, and at that time publicly opened for construction of Surfacing in Garfield County, the same being that section of SR-89 Orion Jet. (SR-20) to Circleville Canyon identified as Federal A i d Project No. S T P -0089(13)142. In Conformity with the Federal-aid Federal-aid Highway Act of 1968 the U.S. Department of Labor has certified the wage rates for this contract which are the minimum wages to be paid on this contract. These rates are made a part ol the contract documents. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that this Department has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Labor, that contractors engaged in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, (52 Stat. 1060). This contract is subject to all appropriate Federal laws, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act oT 1964. A current list of minority contractors, suppliers, and equipment lessors is available and will be furnished by the Utah Department of Transportation, UDOTDPS Building (1st Floor Civil Rights offices), upon request. The length of road to be constructed or improved is 5.2 miles, and the principal items of work are approximately as follows: 1,055 Tons of Asphalt Cement PG 64-34, 17,400 Tons of Asphalt Concrete -314" Maximum and 108,900 SQ. YDS of Cold Recycled Asphaltic Base The project is to be completed in 82 working days. Prequalification of bidders is required. Prior to any bidders receiving plans and specifications, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with the Utah Department of Transportation, completed and approved, the required Prequalification Statement pertaining to contractor's experience and financial condition. When required, a contractor's license must be obtained prior to bidding. Proposal forms, plans, and specifications are on file in the office of the Utah Department of Transportation, Salt Lake City, and the olfice of its Region andor District Director at Richfield, Cedar City, and Price, Utah, where they may be reviewed by prospective bidders. Specifications, proposal forms, and plans may be obtained only at the Department , office at Salt Lake City, upon application and payment of a fee of $8,5.00 plus tax, none of which will be refunded. Each bidder must submit a bid bond from an approved surety company on forms provided by the Department; or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashier's check for not less than 5 of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the Utah Department of . Transportation, as evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required.
