I I . ; ' 1 f , I ..i Monte and Cleo Marshall Monte Marshalls Golden Wedding Celebration Set PANGUITCH Mr. and Mrs. Monte Marshall will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on July 22. They were married April 28, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In keeping with family reunion re-union tradition, the Marshall family will hold their celebration the 24th of July weekend on Monte's birthday. birth-day. Their children are honoring them with an open house on Friday, July 22 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the new LDS chapel in Panguitch. Everyone Ev-eryone is cordially invited to attend and visit with the Marshalls. The program will be at 6 p.m. Monte and Cleo Marshall like many young couples at that time, were separated by the war but were able to be reunited at Oceanside, Calif., while Monte served in the Navy as head of the pharmacy at Santa Margarita Ranch Hospital inside Camp Pendleton. After the war, they returned to Panguitch where Monte worked for his father, Earl Marshall at Panguitch Drug. After living in Price, Utah for about two years, where Monte was employed by Kelly Price Drug, they returned to Panguitch and Monte worked with his father for 30 years. After Earl retired, Monte continued with the family business, a Panguitch Pangui-tch establishment for over 78 years. Monte's son, Steve Marshall is continuing con-tinuing that tradition. Cleo Marshall has been an active ac-tive leader in auxiliaries of the LDS church and in civic clubs, serving as president of almost every organization organi-zation in he life time. She has still found time to raise five children and worked many hours beside her husband in the drug store. She is currently serving as captain of the Moon Valley Daughters of the Utah Pioneers camp in Phoenix, Ariz. Monte Marshall has taken active rolcj in civic and church activities which include serving as president of the Utah Racing Association, Panguitch Junior Chamber of Commerce, and the Wildlife Federation. Feder-ation. He served as a city councilman council-man and as a volunteer fireman for 20 years. He served in the LDS church as a member of the bishopric, bish-opric, as scout master and as young men's president. Monte and Cleo's five children are all college graduates. Steven is a pharmacist in Panguitch; Dan an elementary school teacher in River-ton; River-ton; Mary Lou a kindergarten teacher in Bancroft, Ida.; Tom a physician in Cedar City and Marilyn Mari-lyn a high school teacher in Monroe. Mon-roe. They have 34 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Monte and Cleo spend their winters win-ters in Phoenix where they are involved in-volved in many activities, including horse racing. |
