Show Youngsters Give Escalante Event ESCALANTE Kindergart-ners Kindergart-ners through third graders at Escalante Es-calante Elementary entertained a packed audience Dec. 2, with their Christmas operetta "He Said He Was Santa." Santa was shaved by well-meaning well-meaning rescuers after he crash-landed crash-landed in the Swiss Alps. Thinking Santa was just another old man, not Santa, Max and his gnomes finally fi-nally realized their mistake when Dasher responded to Santa's whistle. whis-tle. The one-hour-15-minute production, pro-duction, a resounding success, delighted de-lighted the audience. The play was under the direction of Emma Lee Larsen, second grade teacher, with Ruth Hoobler, third grade teacher, accompanying on the piano. Carol Stewart, first grade teacher, designed the set, and Beth Christensen, kindergarten teacher, managed publicity. Excellent performances were given by Nathan McLemore, Neil Griffin, Krisly Townsend, Dayne Reynolds, Adam Porter, Troy Dale Lyman, Paul Jaggar, Ryan Cottam, Jessie Baldwin, Zak Wilson, Jason Pratt, Ryan Wilson and Andy Bam son. Songs and dances were performed per-formed by a supporting cast of kindergarten, first, second and third grade students. Principal Noel Pratt presented Christmas wreaths to Larsen and Hoobler as a special thank you for their talents and hard work which made the operetta possible. |
