Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The Christmas trees are coming into town and the snowbirds have mostly flown south. We miss our summer residents but town activities activi-ties are increasing to keep folks busy. The different LDS wards young women are holding various Thanksgiving feasts for the elderly who are alone. It's so great to mingle with the young folks and be waited upon and entertained by their fresh young voices. Panguitch native Melvin Beck-strom Beck-strom was brought home from Elsinore for his funeral and his burial in the south field. His parents par-ents are the dearly remembered Dilworth (Dewey) and Iola LeFevre Beckstrom. The Doug Jensens and John Houstons went north for the funeral of Jessie Howard Barney, sister of Nida Mae Jensen and sister-in-law of Ramona Howard. Mary Perkins and Dawna Barney have had Ron Perkins and his son, Wade visiting in the area during the muzzle load hunt. The Dog Valley homestead surroundings didn't yield any deer but the fellows enjoyed trying. Ron's daughter, Wendi, sort of outshone her dad and brother as she bagged her cow elk on the earlier hunt, r Ralph Goulding is home to recover re-cover from his medical problems. Ray Barnes says that he will be glad to pick up any bent or broken aluminum sprinkler pipe if people will call him when they have some. It sounds great that we are going to have a Trash Man who will pick up large items to haul off at a reasonable rate, since most folks often have items loo big for the green boxes. Check the business directory ad in the Garfield County News. Norma Talbot and Pauline Prince went to Cedar City to attend the opera "Mozartiana" in which Jimmy Wilcock performed. He is Hal and Roma Talbot Wilcock's son. Norma has now gone to Price for Thanksgiving with the Wilcocks and to attend the wedding of a niece, Janice Sevy Bernson's daughter in Salt Lake City. The Dale Orton family was sealed for eternity in the St. George LDS Temple recently. Our dear 90 year-old Delbert (Del) Miller died up north and was brought home to be buried here. A very large crowd of relatives and friends gathered at Del's funeral to tell him goodbye, until we meet again soon. Our love goes to Myra and her family. |
