Show ' w i M "W W ii v W W T By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The Impossible Dream came true. We now can walk directly into the public library on the level instead of climbing almost 20 feel up to get a book. With lots of help and rejoicing 30,000 books were moved one and one-half blocks from the old library to the new one on Jan. 24, and 25 boxes loaded on trucks and hand by 475 links in the human chain. Oh Joy! The Cornelia Camp DUP met at Merle Stowell's home with 18 members present. Lois Miller read a history of Panguitch settler Nin-ion Nin-ion Miller who finally moved to Arizona and was a brother of Allen Miller's grandfather. Lucille Bridges read a history of the long marches of a member of the Mormon Mor-mon Battalion. A tasty lunch was served by the hostesses. Jonnie Burningham and Brett Dalton received their Gospel in Action Ac-tion awards in the Panguitch LDS Third Ward. Ireta Henrie was called as choir director. Our love goes to Pam Robison at the death of her father, Allen Simkins of Circleville. Barbara Hintze is spending some time with her sister in Idaho. Ken Proctor is happily touring southern Utah and spending time visiting with brothers Jay, George and Tom Proctor and sister Merle Stowell. He was here for the funeral fu-neral of school mate Jerry Cameron. Darlene Evans is happy to start work on her antique shop in the historical his-torical old library. Rex and Grace Sandberg reported re-ported their Scandinavian mission in the Panguitch LDS 1st Ward. Little Makade Christenscn, son of Scott and Joyce Christenscn received re-ceived his name and a father's blessing by his dad in the Panguitch Pan-guitch LDS 1st Ward. Henry Thomas is home after being be-ing life flighted to a Salt Lake City hospital with chest pains. He was given a clean bill of health and was relieved that there were no heart or other problems. He is back to work and feeling great. Scott Robinsons sons, Gerald and Paul arc here helping out while Scott is recovering from foot surgery at home. Bill Brown is taking it easy after a stay in the hospital with chest pains. We are happy to receive a Slate of the City message from the Panguitch Pan-guitch City Council to let us know what is going on in our town. It is good to know what is true and not just skultlcbutt from the grapevine. Thanks city council. We appreciate all the work you put into serving us. Our small snow storms were great but we pray for more. Spring in December and January was lovely but it makes one uneasy about water for the summer. Many little calves have appeared during the good weather and we did see one new lamb frisking about. It would be thoughtful if those dropping aluminum cans and other garbage along the River Lane road would bring them into town and put them in the proper boxes marked to receive them. In fact, the garbage strewn along the field roads is embarrassing. em-barrassing. Lets clean it up. Tourists and relatives like to drive around the valley and love to see our surroundings clean and orderly. |
