Show Ranger Post Filled At Bryce Canyon Charles Passek has been selected to fill the Supervisory Park Ranger vacancy at Bryce Canyon National Park. Passek was selected from a long list of top notch applicants due to his indepth knowledge of National Park Service policies, procedures, and visitor protection skills. Passek, a native of Minneapolis, Minneapo-lis, Minn., received his bachelor of science degree in outdoor recreation for Cornell University. Prior to assignment as-signment at Bryce Canyon, Passek completed seasonal and full-time positions in Glacier National Park, Mon.; Yellowstone National Park, Wyo.; Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area, Oh.; Joshua Tree National Monument, Calif.; Big Cypress National Preserve, Fla.; and Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Penn. As Supervisory Park Ranger for Bryce Canyon, Passek will be responsible re-sponsible for the hiring and supervision super-vision of all seasonal front country law enforcement, campground, and air quality personnel. Additionally, Passek will supervise park programs pro-grams for structural fire protection, search and rescue, safety, seasonal training, resource protection, and campground management "I expect my assignment at Bryce Canyon to be both challenging challeng-ing and very rewarding," stated Passek. "I am looking forward to working with the staff and having the opportunity to contribute to the management and resource protection protec-tion of Bryce Canyon." Passek and his wife, Janet, who is a former park ranger, reside in Bryce Canyon. They enjoy working and playing in the outdoors through hobbies such as skiing, backpacking, backpack-ing, and wildlife study. |
