Show f OBITUARIES ) Reva Huntington Lowder HATCH, UTAH - Reva Huntington Lowder, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away May 24, 1995. She was born March 18, 1924 in Hatch to Oliver B. and Velma May Huntington. She married Karl Lowder Jan. 24, 1941; later solemnized solem-nized in the St. George LDS Temple. An active member of the LDS Church, she has held many leadership leader-ship positions including Relief Society President. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and a correspondent for the Hatch Happenings column in the Garfield County News for many years. She was well known throughout Southern Utah for her reading and poems. She loved to make quilts, crochet, read and draw. She loved people and never knew a stranger, she had more than enough love to go around. She dearly loved her family and was so proud of their many accomplishments. accom-plishments. Survived by her husband, Karl, of Hatch; children, Velta and Seth Lott, Cedar City; Jess and Ronda Lowder, Gold Hills, Ore.; Karleta and Ronald Riggs, Panguitch; Mary Beth and Curtis Schmutz, Washington; and Laretta and Philip Crofts, Orderville. Twenty-four grandchildren and 31 gTeat-grand-children; three sisters and one brother, Beth and Darol Allred, Hatch; Ileta and Pat Dix, Panguitch; Mayall and David (deceased) Sawyer, Hatch and Gam O. and Dorothy Huntington, Washington. She was preceded in death by son Rell Karl Lowder, parents Oliver B. and Velma Huntington and brother Boyd E. Huntington. Funeral services were held t Reva Huntington Lowder Friday, May 26 at the Hatch LDS Ward with Bishop S. Leland Riggs officiating and prelude and postlude music provided by Pam Yardley. The family prayer was offered by' a grandson, Shane Lowder with a second grandson, Chad R. Lowder, giving the invocation. A medley of primary songs was sung by daughter-in-law, Ronda Lowder, accompanied by granddaughter grand-daughter Coni Hinds. A history was provided by sister May Sawyer, followed by a tribute by son Jess Lowder. Son-in-law Seth Lott performed per-formed a harmonica solo, "How Great Thou Art" and "O My Father." Life-time friend Clella Hepworth gave a tribute, with Bishop Leland Riggs following with his remarks. A final vocal selection "Families Can Be Together Forever" was sung by the grandchildren grand-children and great-grandchildren, accompanied ac-companied by Coni Hinds. A brother, Gam O. Huntington provided pro-vided the benediction. Pallbearers were grandsons Tyler Lowder, Shane Lowder, Chad Lowder, and Willie Riggs; sons-in-law, Seth Lott, Ronald Riggs and Philip Crofts and brother Garn Huntington. Honorary pallbearers were son-in-law Curtis Schmutz; nephew Robert Burrows and great-grandsons Riley Anderson, Rusty Anderson, Justin Anderson, Jason Mackelprang, Brye Mackelprang, Chad Mackelprang, Colin Lowder, Gregory Lowder, Josh Lacorti and Cody Brush. Flower girls were granddaughters Coni Hinds, Vaelyn Mackelprang, Verene LaCorti, Verla Brush, Vaneta Buffington, Rebecca Huntington, Angelia Riggs, Mindy Bailey, Ashley Crofts, Jordan Crofts and great-granddaughters McKayla Lowder, Ciara Hinds, Danyele Brush, Naomi Lyn Mackelprang and Courtney Buffington. Compassionate service was rendered ren-dered by the sisters of the Hatch LDS Ward. Interment was in the Hatch Cemetery with dedication of the grave performed by son-in-law Ronald K. Riggs, under the direction direc-tion of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. |
