Show Harriet Priska 8264810 A rainbow of wildflowers arches across the desert. Those who have the opportunity to drive down the Hole-in-the-Rock road will be blessed by the sight of "yellow" sego lilies covering the landscape for quite a ways. As one drives further fur-ther south it is like driving ahead in time, seeing such things as sacred datura and prince's plume at lower elevations. The cactus are bursting into bloom and a chorus of other wildflowers reverberate from the hillsides. Additionally the road in Kane County has been bladed this spring down to the last five "character-building" miles over the slick-rock slick-rock which will take some kind of miracle to make passable. The rains we are continuing to receive will make it even more wonderful, so get out and enjoy the mallow, penstamin, sunflowers and many, many more. Sincere thanks for all the help given by Jeannie Linn Vensel who has been faithfully piecing a quilt which the girl scouts have been stitching under the direction of Ruth Ann Oliver. The girls and their moUiers appliquded an undersea under-sea design and will be quilting it in the home of Victory Crawford. When completed, the girls will give it to the Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City as their service project, reports scout leader Beth Christensen. Marrell and Paul Ormond were touring town with Idona Haws from Boulder. The next Chamber of Commerce meeting will be at the Circle D Restaurant Monday, June 12 at 6 p.m. RSVP for a roast beef dinner by June 9th to 826-4810. |
