Show JuddSchools Case Attorneys Set Conference Attorneys on both sides of the long-standing Jerrold Judd vs Garfield Board of Education case will confer this week by telephone conference with Judge Don V. Tibbs according to the school district's dis-trict's attorney, Felshaw King, Salt Lake City. Judd became a controversial figure fig-ure in the county and in education circles throughout the state when the local board of education placed him on involuntary leave in May 1989, just six weeks before the expiration ex-piration of his contract When Judd sought an injunction, the Sixth District Court ruled the board had terminated the superintendent without with-out cause and ordered his immediate reinstatement Judd's case seeking punitive damages was placed on hold while the school district appealed a court decision that disqualified its attorneys attor-neys from the case. When that appeal ap-peal was lost, the district hired King. Recently, Judge Tibbs urged both sides to resolve the case or set a court date. |
