Show fiREfi OBITUARIES v . ) - s - crv I . Edna Osborn Edna Osborn ESCALANTE Edna Renee Smith Osborn, 71, Escalante, died Feb. 2, 1987, in a Panguitch hospital. She was born April 3, 1915, Milford, to Joseph Charles (J. C.) and Emma Dougherty Smith. She was married to Jasper Berlin Osborn, March 20, 1940, Manti LDS Temple. She served as Garfield County Public Health Nurse for 25 years and filled an New England LDS mission from 1937 to 1939. She was active in the auxiliaries of the church and had served in the presidency of the Garfield Stake Primary. . Survivors: husband, Escalante sons, daughters, Milton B., Rock Hill, South Carolina; David J., Spokane, Wash.; H. Kent, Henrieville; Mrs. George (Berniece Renee) Jolley, Angle; Mrs. Mac (Jo) Barney, Cedar City; 24 grandchildren; grand-children; three greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, sisters,' Bill, Mrs. Hal (Ina) Norton, both Milford; Mrs. Tony (Pat) Benson, Blackfoot, Ida.; Mrs. Robert (Leah) Holmes, Cedar City. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Escalante Ward chapel where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 :30 p.m. Interment will be in the Escalante Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield. George Swain George R. Swain, 80, Holden, former publisher of the Garfield County News and Piute County News, died Jan. 27, 1987 in a Provo hospital. He was born June 15, 1906, Gunnison, Gun-nison, to Albert John and Edna Probert Swain. He married Helen Gates Sept. 1, 1925, Ely, Nev. In addition to being editor and publisher in Garfield and Piute counties, he owned and operated the Kane County Standard. He worked in Provo for Herald Printing Co. and in Pioche, Nev. for the Pioche Record. He lived in Henderson, Nev. for 12 years and worked for printing firms in Las Vegas. Survivors: wife, Holden; children, Mrs. Odel (Vivian) Olsen, Mrs. Ralph (Maxine) Jackson, both Orem; Mrs. Verl (Louise) Gardner, Salem; Richard G., Salina; Mrs. Richard W. (Edna) Fyfe, Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, sister, Ward, Elko, Nev.; Don, Sacramento, Calif.; Helen Larson, Holden. Funeral services were Saturday in the Holden LDS Ward chapel with Interment in the Holden Cemetery by Olpin Mortuary, Fillmore. |
