Show Interest 'CooV For Fall City Election With the deadline for filing for municipal elections less than three weeks away, only one person in Garfield County had filed for a municipal mu-nicipal seat at press time. Faye Barney, Panguitch, has filed for one of the city council vacancies va-cancies coming up. In Panguitch, three city council members will complete their terms: Frank Houston, Hous-ton, Jim Hatch and Denny Orton. Thus far, none has filed for re-election, but filings county-wide are typically last minute. Remaining on Panguitch's city council will be members Rick Swanger and Bob Smith and Mayor Jon Lee Torger-son Torger-son according to City Clerk Karen Breinholt. In Escalante, two council members, mem-bers, both appointed to fulfil vacancies va-cancies on the council, will have to run for office to retain their seats, Blaine Lyman and Gerald Barney. Remaining on the council will be Anne Spencer and Stanley Stowe. Wade Barney is Escalante's mayor. Town clerk is Dorothy Simpson and filing information may be obtained ob-tained from her at the town offices. Tropic's mayor, Rick Bybee, appointed to office, and council members Bob Bradley and Leland Pollock will all be going off the council unless all three file and are, in Bybee's case, elected, and in the case of the two council members, re-elected. Town clerk in Tropic is Wendy Brinkerhoff. Remaining on Tropic's council will be Helma Haas and LaMar Feltner. Two Hatch council members will complete their terms: Calvin Wilson and Wiley Huntington. With terms still to complete are Mayor Mervin Barnhurst and council coun-cil members Leland Riggs and Robert Evans. Estella Riggs is clerk in Hatch. In Henrieville, Lyllian Shake-spear Shake-spear and Calvin Grundvig, both of whom were appointed to office, must run for office and be successfully success-fully elected to retain their seats. Thus far, neither has indicated whether he or she will run. Remaining Re-maining on the council will be members Janet LeFevre and Guy Thompson, and Mayor Robert Patterson. Pat-terson. Clerk is Virginia Johnson. In Boulder, both Barbara Gardner and Gary Wayne Haws will end their terms of office. Boulder's mayor is Donna Jean Wilson and remaining council members are Gladys LeFevre and Kim Lyman. Boulder clerk is Judy Davis. Two council members in Can-nonville Can-nonville will also face completed terms of office, Howard Leavitt and Anita Fletcher. With terms still to be completed are Mayor Jim Clarke and council members James Choate and John Mathews. Louise Mangum is clerk. |
