Show Boulder Hews By Jeanne 1 larshman 335-7348 . A beautiful week and Boulder Mountain and the valley arc a golden wonder. The community is really buzzing buz-zing about the dog situation, cougars cou-gars and bears. The animals seem to be getting quite aggressive and locals arc advising hikers to be cau- lious. Sue Bassctt shared her slides of a ' trip to Australia and New Zealand at 1 Boulder LDS Relief Society. A nice group of ladies attended the ,: evening meeting. Light dessert refreshments re-freshments of apple cake and gin-1 gin-1 gcrbrcad were served following the presentation, prepared by Barbara Gardner and Colleen Thompson. ' Gardens are pretty well gone and the last fruit of the season, pears . and apples, are being dehydrated and canned. LDS high council member Earl , Slack and returned missionary Thad - Fcltncr, who served his mission in Alaska, traveled from Tropic to give very interesting talks at Sacrament Meeting on Sunday. ' The Boulder Ward's 20-mcmbcr ,' choir sang a beautiful arrangement of "I Heard Him Come" and Jcannette Eastman played her first piano solo in a church meeting. Very well done! She is a piano student of Jeanne Harshman. Larry Ripplingcr is now home with his new artificial foot and getting get-ting around really well. Heard he went elk hunting. His attitude continues con-tinues cheerful and has been an inspiration in-spiration to all who know him. Joel and Carol Greer traveled to Salt Lake City to see her son Brian Ashcroft off on his mission to Russia. He represents a Mesa, Ariz, stake and also has friends here in Boulder. His brother, Donovan, also entered the Missionary Training Center on Oct. 18. A great farewell parly for Tina Karlsson and Peter Benson was held at Jack and Susan Pollock's home. The town was invited to join in a fond farewell as they leave to spend a year in England where Peter will be working for a computer company. Jack prepared dutch oven chicken and roasted turkey and par-tygoers par-tygoers supplied the salads and desserts. Everyone had fun, and many who were unable to attend join in wishing Peter, Tina and their family a wonderful year. Kay Ripplingcr and Jeanne Harshman have agreed to be write-in write-in candidates for the Nov. 7 election for two Boulder council scats. They join Vard Coombs and Joel Greer in the race for the four-year terms. Word around town is that there may be even more write-ins, a common practice here.
