Show Tropic Mows By Ronnie Brinkerhoff 679-8734 Dean and Erma Wintch traveled to Orem to attend grandson Wesley Dean Wintch's missionary farewell October 14. Wes will serve an LDS mission near Siberia, Russia. He is a son of Dennis and Sharron Wintch. Erma stayed at daughter Valarie Grimmer's home while Dean returned to Tropic. Erma stayed to help out daughter-in-law Sharon after she had surgery. Erma reports Sharon is doing fine. Also, she reports grandson Justin Grimmer who is on an LDS mission mis-sion in Moore, Okla. is doing great. He is serving as senior companion com-panion and loving it. Justin is a son of Don and Valerie Grimmer formerly of the Bryce Canyon Airport. Wanda Shakespear and grandson Joey celebrated their birthdays Oct. 14. The special party was well-attended with many friends and family members. Wanda's sister Rhonana Findlay from Kanab, sister-in-law May Sawyer, Hatch and her son Kurt Sawyer, Henderson, Nevada and Wanda's dear friend Betty Wintch were among those on hand to wish Wanda a happy 72nd birthday. After the party, Wanda walked outside to help son Darwin and daughter-in-law Kathy get some wood in. Wanda fell giving them all a scare. Wanda said other than being black and blue she was fine and she expressed her love and appreciation to her family and friends for the best birthday party she ever had. Many visitors were in town for the annual deer hunt Talked to Dar Smith he and wife Helen were here from St. George visiting Helen's father Earl Jolley. Paul McCann, Julie Walden's father fa-ther is visiting from California. They enjoyed an evening out together. Jeff joined in the hunt with the Brinkerhoff s. David and Cherrie Tebbs, Bryce have a baby son, Chandlyr David born Oct. 9. Big sister Alexus is tickled with the cutie. Stephan and Amber Simons, Cedar City, visited at the Raymond Brinkerhoff s. Stephen was here to hunt deer, while Amber helped her mom open up her new shop. Ora Brinkerhoff and Louise Shakespear traveled to Las Vegas, Nev. to attend the baptism of Louise's grandson, and Ora's great-grandson, great-grandson, Kalahan ShakesDear into - the LDS church. Kalahan is the son of Darrell and Kayleen Shakespear. Wade Ramsay, wife Sherrie Lyn and daughter Taylor are visitors at the Clare Ramsay home. Justin Baugh, Cedar City, was seen in town. His sister Kelly Moore, her husband Birch and their family spent some time with Kelly's parents, Mateland and Ruth Baugh. Johnny and Marie Niemann have a house full of visitors for the deer hunt. Marie has her house decked out with Halloween fun again this year. Amplus Lefevre is a patient in Garfield Memorial Hospital. Jim and Shirley Hannah were in town visiting with the Paul Mangums, and other friends in the area. Jim was honored by President Bill Clinton in Washington D.C. in the oval office, as Outstanding National Park Service employee. The Hannah's, formerly of Bryce Canyon, are now stationed in Glennallen, Aka. They plan on retiring in Henrieville. Cami Mangum had a visit from her father, Walt Engle of Cedar City. Gene and Marietta Chynoweth attended a wedding reception in Las Vegas, for grandson Billy Tacket, son of Renon Gibson. Walapai Johnny from Fredonia visited with the Paul Mangum's. He helped Paul sell his cows, then traveled with the Mangums to Grand Canyon to close down Grand Trail rides for the season. Grant and LaRue Tucker of St. George also visited the Mangums. Also, Louie Schwab of Moab who came to see the new addition to the Maneum family, Codi Collette, daughter of Tawn and Cami Mangum. Harvey and Camille Mecham are proud parents of cute little Samuel Bronc. Samuel and Codi are second cousins arriving one week apart Codi's grandparents are Keela and Paul Mangum; great-grandmother Iris Bushnell. Henrieville. Iris is also great-grandmother to Samuel; his grandparents are Stan and Nellie Mecham and the late Koye Mecham. Malen Mecham is great grand father. Folks, we live in a small town where everybody but everybody knows one anothers business, however, how-ever, I can't print rumors! Come on, call in your news.
