Show Scout Pow-Wow Slated A pow-wow for the Panguitch District Scouts is scheduled for the entire month of March with merit badge classes set for March 1, 8, IS and 21 from 6 until 9 p.m. A large variety of classes will be taught to help area scouts earn their merit badges. Scouts will meet at Panguitch Middle School for the first night of training. Local scouts have an opportunity to earn either two or three merit badges during the training period. Instructors will be skilled in the particular badge they teach. Scouts mnay take swimming and one other badge, or, if they choose not to take swimming, they may take as many as three different badges. The swimming badge requires two-hours of instruction each night with the third hour available for working on another badge. Traffic safety will be taught by Panguitch Police Chief Martin Nay; citizenship in the nation by Dorothy Houston; citizenship in the community by Dawna Barney and communications by Gloria Houston. First aid by Jerry LeFevre, emergency preparedness by Arnold Keown; woodcarving by Nyle Sawyer, truck transportation by John Pfnister and computers by Mike Connell. Swimming for which there is a $5 fee, will be taught by Sheldon Proctor. There will be a $2 registration fee. |
