Show Range Management Loans at $284,800 According to the Soil Conservation Service there are, to date, in Garfield County nine state rangeland development loans totaling $284,800 and over 21,900 acres of rangeland being improved. Improvements include 11,550 acres of brush management and reseeding, 35 miles of fencing, eight livestock water developments, and 10 erosion control structures. The Rangeland Development Fund is a rotating fund set up by the state of Utah to do work on State and private rangeland. It is a non-interest loan based on a dollar value of deeded land used for collateral. There is a one-time four percent administrative cost, with three to 15 years to pay back the plan based upon the rancher's ability to pay it back. The first two years'; payments are deferred.
