Show Panguitch Girls Attend FHA Meet Fourteen Panguitch girls and their two advisors attended the Future Homemakers of America state convention in Salt Lake City April 28 and 29. The two day convention was held at Brigham Young University in Provo where more than a dozen workshops provided interesting and challenging activities for participants from all over Utah. The girls checked in Monday evening and after a box dinner attended a "Family Fireside" sponsored by the BYU Department of Home Economics Education In the Cannon Center. Tuesday featured a wide choice for convention visitors with elections for next year's officers an important event. The busy day was topped off with a banquet and entertainment that evening in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. Workshops on a variety of subjects were held on Wednesday with LaRae Nay, an FHA state official, conducted a workshop on family crisis. Advisors for the trip were Janna Hamby and Judy Christensen. Attending were Jeanette Matthews, Wendy Harris, Beth Brinkerhoff, Lana Houston, Heidi Miller, Cherie Crosby, Mary Ellen DeLong, Laretta Lowder, Melanie Miller, Kathy Yardley, Anne Aguilar, Ronnmie Sandoval and Jean Cooper. |
