Show Officers Keep Busy With Cases TICABOO - Garfield County law enforcement officers reported a busy schedule in the Ticaboo area. Deputy Tom Jackson, returning from rotation duty in Ticaboo related details in which two juveniles and 18 year old Randy Dumas of Granger were cited with "illegal possession of alcohol" during the course of his duty. Both juveniles were referred to Richfield probation officer Brent Bowcutt who was on hand in that southeastern section of the county. Dumas plead guilty to the charge, was fined, and released upon payment of the fine. In another incident just north of Ticaboo on State Road 276, Jed W. Tate, 19, resident of Blanding working in the Ticaboo area, was apprehended following a high speed chase on Saturday. Highway Patrol Troopers Jim Reynolds and Milt Trejo had pulled over a motorist for a routine stop when Tate's auto sped by at ap proximately 83 mph. The troopers immediately followed in pursuit reaching speeds in excess of 120 mph during the chase which ceased when the suspect pulled to a stop on State Road 95 just short of the Colorado border. Tate was cited with "failure to stop at the command of a police officer" in addition to "reckless driving." Bail on Tate was set at $1,000 and the suspect was released upon posting of bail to appear in Tenth Circuit Court before Judge Louis G. Tervort. |
