Show Boulder Hews i LeNora UFevre The Haws family received word of the death of their brother-in-law William Charles Weir age 58 who died of a heart attack on January 4 at Pittsburg, Penn. Otto and Idona Haws, Neta Poulson, 111a Winn, Fay Jepsen, and Jim Haws flew to Pittsburg to be with their sister Genevieve Weir and were accompanied by Neta's daughter Dorothy Jean Alvey and granddaughter Joyce of Layton. The family attended the funeral and stayed four days with Genevieve. Wyatt and Pamela Jepsen with daughter Jackey had their marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 20. They also visited with her aunt in Idaho and with a friend of Wyatt's in that state. Ivan and Dorothy Lyman spent a week in St. George doing temple work. They stayed with Ivans sister Loya Gubler and husband Glen who are the proud parents of a new baby girl. Alace Lyman was in Panguitch where she attended a Yough Conference. Dell and Gladys LeFevre were recently in Salt Lake City after a load of building material for their new house. They visited with Glady's sister Marilyn Artz and family and brother Jack and wife Melissa Lyman and other family members. Dell attended commissioner meetings while there. Obe and Dora Wright returned from Southern California where they enjoyed her daughter Martha Reynolds and husband Paul and grandson Robert. Also Obe's brother Youell Wright. They visited with other relatives while in California. Vern and Emma Jane Hansen's son, Paul has been home helping with the cattle. The Hansens received word that daughter Deloras Cook is a substitute teacher at the Bountiful High School. Dan and Vicky Coleman were in Kanab visiting with Kelbert and Edna Button, LeFay and Janet Coleman and Jerry and Rosalee Coleman. Colemans also went to Richfield on business. Lorn and Uvada Moosman accompanied by Donna Jen went to Panguitch after Moosmans new pickup. Otto and Idona Haws were in Panguitch on business and visited with Franklin and Jean Hansen. Franklin is recovering from surgery. Turman and Leona Lymans son Noel will be released from his Australia LDS mission on February 27. Sox and Effie Spencer are the caretakers at the doctors ranch in Salt Gulch. John Meisenbach Sr. came from California where his wife Marilyn is under the doctors care and is feeling much better. Scot and Twila McDonald have been In Richfield after building material for their new house. Nina Moosman is visiting with her children in Arizona. Jewel Bowman and family of Flagstaff, Reeves Val Moosman and family of Cottonwood and Madge and husband. Charles Flake and Ken Hogan of Arizona came to spend a few winter days at' their ranch. Larry Coombs of Monroe and Val Jean Haws of St. George joined other stock men of Boulder where they gathered the thin cattle off the winter range and are trailing them home. The deep snow and cold weather has been extremely hard on the cattle. The large herds of elk have drifted off the mountain to the Circle Cliff area and are thin. Mayor Vivian Crosby t and the town board held a 1 meeting in January. Max and Veda Bchunin s were in Provo where Veda saw her eye doctor. They were also in Richfield after freight. ! On January 14 Bishop Vard S. Coombs and wife Mary Jane were the speakers in sacrament meeting. On January 21 high councilmen Kenneth Goulding, Myron Cottam and Kay Mangum were the speakers. A blanket of 36 inches of snow covers the Boulder country. All during the month of January the temperature has hovered around zero and below. |
