Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey Lillie Spencer is still north and sent word the doctor told her she has an ulcer which they hope to cure with medication. The Arnold Alveys' went to Richfield to bring daughter, Janeen Duncan home to recover from surgery. Then she went home to Wayne County. ' The Randal Lymans had daughter-in law Candy Lyman and little girl here from California. The Lorenzo Griffins have son, Lewis, and his son, from Provo. Jane Woolsey has Alvey and Laretta Sherman here from Imperial Beach, Calif. The Starns Mechams, Marlene Haws went to Salt Lake City and took in the circus. Jim Alvey of Mapleton came for the weekend. Koleen Wayne got word that son, Glen Griffin, was made president of the Sunday School at BYU. The Senior citizens held a supper last week under the direction of Clara Johnson. Wayne and Glenna Banks went to Iowa to bring their horses here. Their son, Neal, and family of Mesa, Ariz, were here for the weekend. Donene Griffin took some of Quinn Griffin's pictures to Salt Lake City to enter into the art show. Local members of Valley Finance, the Blake Robinsons, the McKay Baileys, the Glen Leuwellyns, met other members at the Foster Steak house for dinner and a meeting. The minibus took a group to St. George via Cedar Mountain to view .the autumn splendor. Fast day services were held Sunday, and the son of the Lance Colemans was christened by his great-grandfather, Orland (Whitey) Porter. Stake Relief Society meeting' was held here Saturday and the local openingsocial Tuesday. The Special Interest group met at the town park with Dicey Coombs and Idella Imlay furnishing and serving the food. Melvin and Florence Alvey went to St. George for the funeral service of brother-in-law Elmer Gibson. He and wife Delia and Mickey and Matt Kindred visited last week at the Alvey home. Mr. Gibson had a stroke and was flown to St. George where he died at the local hospital. |
