Show Polled Hereford Field Day Set Aug. 25 At Antimony ANTIMONY -All area cattlemen are invited to the Annual Utah Polled Hereford Field Day hosted by Phil Allen and Sons at their ranch in Antimony on Saturday, August 25. Registration is at 9 a.m. and activities begin with cattle judging by men, women and juniors. Special speakers include Nyle Mathews, area livestock specialist, His topic is "Bull Selection." Dr. LaMont Smith, of Brigham Young University Animal Science department will speak on "Dva Transplants"; Sherman D. Harmer, secretary of the Utah Cattlemans Association will talk about "Special Message to All Cattlemen," and Gene Friend, chairman of the Board of National Polled Hereford Association will take a look at "What's Ahead." For the first time there will be special events for all juniors with a clipping and fitting demonstration directed by Rolf Shuman, which will conclude with a showmanship contest in the afternoon. All youth who have an interest in showing cattle are invited to participate. Lunch will be provided, compliments of the Allen family.
