It is going to seem different staying at home but the difference is going to be welcomed, I am going to need all the help I can get learning the art of homcmaking so if anyone has any good recipes for meals or homemaking ideas send them my way, they will be welcomed! 1 am going to miss the paper, the Fuellenbachs have been good to work for and Peggy and I have enjoyed working on Mondays together. I won't be stuck in the house 100 percent for each day, I will spend time practing the organ and for an hour and one-half a day working for the Desert News. I will also become involved in Relief Society and the monthly DUP and EMT meetings. I can hardly wait! Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Reid have returned home after spending several weeks with their families. They spent Christmas at Francis and Carol Ann Spencer family, Ileber City where other family members joined them. They spent part of their vacation with Jay and Rosemary Christensen family, Granger and Robert and lletta Green family at Bountiful. Gam and Areilla Web and Garnadee spent time in Salt Lake City where Ida Webb is staying with her daughter, Frankie and Garth Barney and Lorna Kierstead, Salt Lake City. Raymond McEwcn Joined them for the weekend. Bernard and Beth Ilenrie enjoyed the holidays with their oldest daughter Bernice and Don P. Miller and family in Riverside, Calif. They were thrilled when all four of their children phoned them Christmas day. Word was received of the birth of a baby daughter to Mr. and Mrs, Evan Excell of North Ogdcn. There are three sisters to welcome the little girl home. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Excell of Panguitch and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Griffen of Escalante. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Griffin, Escalante and Mrs. Celeste Talbot, Panguitch. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Excell spent part of the holidays with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Marshall and family, Sandy. Visiting at the home of the James Excell's over New Years weekend was their son, Max and Glenda and family, Cokeville, Wyo. where Max is the principal of Cokeville schools. Sherrie and Kerry Anderson, Loa had a baby boy Jan. 6. Their son, Corey 3 years old was waiting for him. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Middleton, F'anguitch and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Anderson, Koosharem; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Barney, Panguitch. Jay and Maxine Crosby and Lynn and Laine spent time visiting Norman Crosby family in Provo; the Evan Crosby family in Sandy and spent Christmas in Portland, Oreg. with Richard Crosby family. Enroute home they went down the Oregon and California coast to the Redwood fofest and visited Jay's brother, Ellis Crosby family, I,os Gatos, they visited sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Sheets and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Shumway, Upland, Calif. They attended the Rose Parade while in California then returned home. Phillip and Geneal Bailey, Mincrsville visited Jay Crosby's and Bruce Daltons. Two babies were blessed in the Panguitch Second Ward, Ronson J. Barton, son of Tammy and Neil Barton, Brandon Dennis Ilenrie, son of Chris and Dennis Ilenrie. Judy Ann McPhee, foster daughter of Larry and Donna Barney was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS church. The family spiritual presentation was put on by Wallace Lee family. Edra Miller attended the newly remodelid Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City. She met with the 43rd legislature. While there she saw the Utah Travel Council's new film, "Another Time, Another Place" telling about vacation spots in Utah. She said she was really impressed with the film but if she had made it she would have put more in it about Bryce Canyon. Bob Crosby came in third in the snowmobile races held last weekend at Brian Head. The thing that made him feel bad was that before the race he beat the winner. He froze up during the race. He was so mad about it he challenged the winner again after the race and beat him again, why couldn't he do it when it counted! Keith and I went to Salt Lake City over the w eekend to spend 8 hours in the ambulance and 8 hours at one of the hospitals. Other than the hospital running a close second to General Hospital on TV, the time spent was educational. Keith enjoyed his training session, especially since 1 there were all female nurses on duty. While there we visited Keith's 1 folks the Redick Fackrells and my folks the Ivan Sorensens and our son, David. |
