Show Assignment Proposal Mulled by PTA Group The Panguitch-Hatch Parent Teacher Association board, teacher, Geneal Jacobsen, Garfield County School superintendent Kerry Nelson and Laurel Holman and Mac Jerome, met Thursday to discuss the proposal of assignments of teachers during ten 1977-78 school year. Because of less funds to run the school district, changes have had to be planned in the following years schedule for Escalante, Bryce Valley, Antimony and Panguitch schools. The school board, Mr. Nelson and staff have, after many hours of studying through the problem come up with a plan they feel is best for the school students and the programs of the district. This plan was introduced to the PTA board members and was also presented to the School board and interested citizens in a school board meeting held Wednesday evening. Nelson said if any person can come up with a better plan that will benefit all the school students in the district, their suggestions are welcome but the plan must be completed and approved by the board by March 1. The PTA board also discussed the importance of getting as many people as possible to the school board meeting and to the special Community Development meeting held also Wednesday evening in Tropic. "I feel because these are such important meetings the PTA board members should contact people in assigned areas of Panguitch and Hatch and invite the citizens personally to the meetings Wednesday evening," PTA president Margaret Harding said. It was also mentioned that a school bus would be provided to take concerned citizens to these meetings. Teacher appreciation Day for the teachers and working personnel of Panguitch High School and Garfield County School District planned by the PTA will be held Feb. 14.
