Show Annual Questionnaire Asks Veteran's Income Thousands of Veterans Administration pensioners throughout Utah received an annual income questionnaire with the pension check delivered on November 1, ac cording to Elmer J. Smith, director of the VA Regional Office In Salt Lake City. It Is imperative that the veterans, their widows, and dependents receiving monthly VA pension checks fill out and return the annual Income questionnaire as soon as possible. Although the forms are not due until January 1, 1976, Smith suggests the questionnaire be piled out and returned sooner If possible. Failure to return the questionnaire by the deadline could result in discontinuance of future VA pension checks. Annual income is a determining factor in the amount of the VA pension check, since the amount of the VA pension is based upon the amount of income received from other sources, Smith said. Those eligible to receive monthly pension checks are honorably discharged wartime veterans who are permanently and totally disabled as a result of a nonservice-connected disability. A veterans widow and or children may also qualify for payments, provided they meet the income requirements. Certain pensioners over age 73 who have been on the pension role for at least two years are exempt from completing annual income questionnaires. It is possible that some in this category may receive a questionnaire this year, however, and If they do, this annual Income questionnaire should be completed and returned promptly no later than January 1. Assistance for filling out the annual Income questionnaire may be obtained by visiting the Veterans Administration Regional Office at 125 South State Street, Salt Lake City. Smith pointed out that veterans In receipt of service-connected disability compensation do not have to Fill out a questionnaire. |
