Coach Englestead of Pan-guitch came up with a couple of frisky freshmen, some speedy sophomores, all of them acting as if they liked the game, and they Just out-sped and out-played the classy crew from Junction until Freshman Arlin Sawyer fouled out in the fourth period, then class and experience took Its toll and Piute came on to win 74 to 63. Meanwhile Escalante defeated Bryce Valley 75 to 63, with Shurtz with 24 points and Norman 22 points leading the scoring for the Moquls from Escalante. Bryce Valley scoring was led by Munson, Reynolds and Goulding each with lft points. League standing now is Val-ely, 4 wins, 0 losses: Piute, 4 and 1; Escalante, 3 and 2; Panguitch, 1 and 4; Bryce Valley, 0 and 5. Wednesday's games saw Bryce Valley playing Piute at Junction, Valley at Escalante. Friday's games pit Panguitch againt Valley at Ordervllle, and Escalante at Piute in Junction. |
