Show Another "Noble Experiment" Starts to Wreck The Nation That so-called "Noble Experiment" was a very good Idea too. But It Just could not be made to work. It asked too much of mere man. Alhough the first few years had demonstrated to all that the prohibition law with Its snoops, informers, gangsterism, blue-nose bribe takers, increased liquor consumption and general corruption was not going to work, there still existed such a huge holler lobby of goodies and the unrealistic that it took a full ten years and more to kill it off. And that only after it had corrupted the nation to such an extent that we still live witn its aftermath. So with the sacred environment measures forced on an unready nation by the extreme consternationists and their lobby-gows in the congress. It is much too much, much too soon. Already we have a top-heavy beaurocracy afflicted with petty caesars holding the power of economic life and death not only over Individuals and manufacturing companies, but also over entire sections of the nation. The bible says that man earns his bread by the sweat of his brow, The consternationists and their congressional hirelings have distorted that to: "If it's n question of sweat or starve, then you must starve because sweating is unseemly and pollutes the atmosphere." Current gasoline and power shortages are hints of what is to come. No congressman now in office has the guts to raise his voice against that law so highly re garded by the nation's huge block of starry-eyed non-producers. |
