Show Survey Shows Heavy Snow Cover Snow surveys recently completed by the Soil Conservation Service indicate over 233 per cent of the 1953-67 average water content. Detailed measurement of snow courses were: Duck Creek: 44" snow, 17.5" water for 380 per cent of average. Castle Valley: 49" snow, 19.4 water, 290 per cent average. Widtsoc - Escalante Summit: 31.5- snow, 11.4" water, 433 per cent. Widtsoc Escalante No. 2: 43" snow, 14.8" water, 379 percent. Widtsoc Escalante No. 3: 53" snow, 176" water, 238 percent. Panguitch Lake and Harris Flat, which normally do not have snow this time of year, have water contents of 7.4" and 5.8. |
