Show corinne mothers attend brigham clinic A significant step forward in the securing ot of better public health conditions was taken last wednesday when the mothers ot of corinne came in a body to hope their preschool pre school children examined at the brigham city clinic through the courtesy ot of the committee in charge and ot of the examining I 1 physicians the time ot of this clinic was wag devoted entirely to the examining ot of children irom from the corinne community thirty three children representing twenty two families were examined and were found to be a pretty healthy lot some were undernourished but not to a degree which is ordinarily though very serious A number had tonsil detects defects in varying degrees the mothers being now forewarned are in a position to take necessary means ot of correcting these detects defects the significant thing about this community action on the part ot of the corinne mothers Is that they are becoming converted to the necessity ot of having exact information on the physical condition ot of their children that they may be in a position to safeguard them against preventable sickness experts tell us that in the past we havo have not attached sufficient importance to that borderline condition of physical well being where one Is neither sick nor in a condition ot of positive health and where any added strain such as a sudden chill or any unusual physical exertion may bring a definite illness that th the e importance ot of this borderline condition Is beginning to be felt elt is evidenced by the action ot of these corinne mothers who schemed and planned their work days ahead perhaps in order to attend this clinic and learn the truth about the health of their children when in most cases there was no apparent cause tor for alarm in this movement corinne has se an excellent example which other communities could follow with profit to themselves credit Is due mrs floyd murphy vice president of the corinne farm bureau tor for originating this idea she was ably assisted in carrying it 0 out ut by mrs C gadney leader in health work for the corinne tl farm bureau and by mrs ed gilbert president ot of the corinne relief relict society |
