Show PAT BOONE The Utah State Fair for 1967 represents "the most changed face ever. New policies have been adopted and new attractions added to create a new image and a new, more wide spread public appeal Advancing the Fair date two weeks to August 26 Septem ber 4 insures that vacationing school children and tourists may enjoy the color and excite ment of the Fnir A better weather picture goes along with the date change too, as well as the Labor Day Holiday, a tradational final family outing day in Utah. New displays will be presented at the Fair this year including those of the aerospace MARTY ROBBINS industries in the new Aerospace Pavilion, industrial dis plays in the Industrial Pavl lion, military displays, commercial exhibits and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints exhibit which proved to be so popular last year Certainly the most obvious change in the Fair is the entertainment emphasis This year a fantastic line up has been set featuring only the top names of show business Appearing this year are Bob Hope. Saturday. August 26: Marty Robbins. August 28 -September 1 ; Ernie Ford. Saturday, September 2; Pat Boone, September 3 & 4; and Ice Capades of 1968. Friday, BOB HOPE Top Stars To Shine At Utah State Fair Aug. 26 - Sept. 4 August 25 through Monday. September 4. The entertainment line - up also Includes the Horse Show, the Queen Contest, the Sle brand Midway and Children's Circus, free bandstand acts, the U. S. Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, the U.S. Coast Guard Band. Indian Hogans and exhibits, Judo. Karate and Ju - Jltsu demonstrations, a science fair, n giant hot air balloon, sky divers, two human cannonballs. horse pulling con tests, a pet show, a ginnt parade, livestock auctions, county exhibits, commercial exhibits and kids attractions. Another new policy of the 1967 Utah State Fair is to encourage TOTAL participation from Utahns from all over the state. From this policy stems the mobile ticket office idea which toured the southern por tion of the state recently |
