Show Escalante Chit Chat FAY ALVEY The weather stays so cold many folks have turned their heat back on. The roses are trying to bloom but the poor lilacs were so frost bitten they could not make it. Ivan Willis cut his hay, don't know if it was ready or If he just hurried and cut it before It froze. Laura Baker wrote from Salt Lake that the had her cast off and is taking therapy treatments but did not know when she could come home. LaVern Griffin went to Salt Lake for examination, Clella Woolsey took him and Mary in her new car. Jolynn and Caroline Griffin and Bonnie Spencer were here for the weekend, Kate Porter and granddaughter Lawnie went back to Salt Lake with them. Billle Davis is home trying to follow doctor's orders, with constant reminding from Minnie, but it is very hard to do nothing. The other ailing folks are about the same. The work is progressing on the clinic, they do not have enough man power volunteer so had to hire some. Wlah to correct an error last week; Donald Cowles was not here, his wife Joan, three kids and mother-in-law Dora Henderson were but Donald is still overseas. He went to Thailand in November and has never been home, he has been promoted to TSgt. in the Air Force, and has to finish out the year where he Is. Wayne and lone Barney went to Provo to visit Jean and George Ikaard and family be fore they move to Virginia where he has employment. La-retta Spencer and Leanna Deuel took Hulda Spencer back to Mt. Pleasant, then went on to Provo to visit Leanna's moth er. Coleen Burrows and kids were also in Provo, Nellie Bailey accompanied her Shar on Dale, Shirley and Thelma Marsh had business in Salt Lake City. Iris Porter had Em ery and Sylvia Porter and Ge nev've Shurart here Marten Haws and kids and Fon Mecham went to Tropic Starns Mecham was presented a twenty year pin for his dut les in the Forest Service. The Mechams had son Ronald and family here from Cedar City Vic Coitani took Euzell back to Cedar to the eye doctor Those we heard of having bus iness in Panguitch were Shir lee Spencer and Betty Alvey, Maevonn Taylor and kids, De on Alvey and girls, Nancy and Julie Droubay Emmert Porter had a visit from Dorene, Dale, and Dorthy Schow and Douglas Alvey Doug and Dale are on furlough. The Marvin Mounteer's son Paul la iere on furlough, he is training at Fort Bliss. Texas Nyrah Marchant and her henchmen, George and Reno came to see about her uranium claims. Hortense Munson, who is staying with Lorell and fam ily got word she has a new grandson born to Loyd and Faye at the Air base in Illinois, they adopted three children, now this is the second one ahey have of their own. Loyd has been made Major. Kim and Evelyn Lay, Ray Lay and family, Hal and Lasca Woolsey are all here visiting and fish ing. Dave Mclnelly came from Mesa for Yulonde and the kids, Maxine Horrick's oldest girl, went back with them for a visit. Carolyn Williams and family visited at the Claron Barneys, Ruth Lay and Julie Christensen went back to Price with them. The Cole-mans. Don, Lillian. Hyrum, and Mary Ellen went to Wayne County to honor their parents in a church program Hyrum and Mary Ellen had daughter Valeree Davies home from Salt Lake City The John Zenzs had Claud and Lou Brooks from Calif., he has been president of the Photographers Guild of Amer ica and really knows Photo graphy. They invited friends and neighbors in to sec slides he showed of the many paces they had visited. Mr and Mrs. 0. T. Helton also of California were here hunting relics. They were told the relics were so plentiful they could load a pickup but we have to use our relics. Vin and Larue Spencer went to Richfield for a new truck, their son Ronald is working at Cedar Breaks. Their daughter Kathy is in Nevada with Dan ny and Lois, Suzie Schow went with them also and got a job The Ron Schows felt like they were practically deserted, her father Lester Heaps left, Ron aid s wife and baby and Susie Ronald called them from Calif saying he would not have to go overseas until November so they joined him. Dicey Coombs has son Owen Porter and family here Eddie and Ved? Mitchell, Lizzie and DeRay Porter and Whitey and Maralda Porter went on a camping trip in the Smokey Mountain area The stake YLMIA planned a camp out at Calf Creek but the weather don't look too cooperative Ernie and Clarice Griffin had son Clem and family here from Murray, they had several fam ily dinners and get togethers Douglas and Carbara Haycock came from Panguitch. Douglas Haycock went to Richfield for the weekend where his friend Helen Poulsen was running for Miss Richfield but she lost out Sneaking of races.
