Show Fishermen's Cooperation Is Needed Mammoth Creek Fish Study A rainbow trout research study will be conducted on Mammoth Creek and the up per Sevier River this summer, to investigate the survival and movement of stocked rainbow trout. The work will ba done by Marlln Rrlcker, I student at Utah State Iniversity. The long range objective of the research is to investigate means to increase the returns of hatchery trout to the fish ermen The percent of return haa nationwide Importance as more and more of our fishablc inland waters are manneod by stocking. The research project will involve approximately 8.000 tagged rainbows, stocked throughout the summer The fishermen fishing Mam rroth Creek are asked to play an important roll in the sue cess of the research Some of the rainbows they catch will have green streamer tags marked 'I'SU Please Deposit " These tags are located beneath the dorsal fin of the rainbows. The fishermen are asked to stop at stations: boxes mark-d 'Fishermen Register Deposit Tags' found along Mammoth Creek. At these stations envelopes are available to the fish crmen to fill out and to place any tags he has taken; the en velope can then be placed in the box. Fishermen are asked to supply the information whe ther they catch fish or not |
