Show . w ,t mrw Funds Assured To Improve Two In-County State Parks Jim Yardley, chairman of the Garfield County Commis sion. and County Commissioners Leland Griffin and Dale Marsh have received word from State Representative Royal T. liar ward that the Joint House and Senate Committee had approved approximately $50,000 each for two Garfield County state parks; the Chimney Rock Park south of Cannonvllle and the Anasazi Indian Site State Park and Museum at Boulder. At the Boulder Park a museum Is to be built that will reveal the various rooms of the ancient Indian pueblo and will house the artifacts that have been found In them and nearby. The commissioners hope that the people of Boulder and Escalante will contribute time and labor that will make the state money go as far as possible in the construction of a fine building. Plans for it are already drawn by the University of Utah Department of anthropology. The Bryce Lions Club has plans to contribute much labor to the improvement of the colorful Chimney Rock State Park. The commissioners also announced that Garfield County will contribute the use of men and machinery on both of the park projects. Thanks for bringing these much-wanted projects so close to realization must go to the public spirited citizens of the county, the county commissioners, Representative Royal T. Harward, State Senator Ken drick Harward and Harold J. Tippets, asistant director of the State Parks Department |
