Show Late March And Early April Snows Help Brighten Water Picture Snow survey and rata gauge measurements for the month of March have been completed throughout Garfield County. These surveys were made by Kent Hortta, Soil Conserv ation; Ranee Rollins and Larry Gasv Forest Service. Castle Valley: 34.9" snow, 10" water; last year: 26.1" snow 7.2" water; long time average, 14"; rata' gauge ta March recorded total 'catch 3.98" water, last year 3.92". r- Panguitch Lake: 6.67" snow, 2.04" water; last year no measurable snow; long time average 5.1" water; 1.69" rata, last year 0.85". Long ValleyJunction:' 6.27" snow, 1.44" water; .last year1 no snow; long time average 4.2" water. Harris Flat: 21.1" snow, 5" water; no snow last year; long time average 8.5" water. Duck Creek: 33.35 snow, 8.2" water; last year 4.0" snow, I. 5" water; long time average 15.9" water; total catch rata "gauge 4.77", last year 2.48". Widtsoe Escalante 1: 19.8" snow, 3.8" water; last year II. 06" snow, 3.75" water; long time average 7.5" water. Widtsoe Escalante No. 2: 25.2" snow, 5.8" water; last year 21.05" snow, 4.9" water; long time average 10.4" water. Widtsoe Escalante Summit No. 3 31.05" snow, 6.85" water; last year 30.15" snow, 7.65" water; new snow course and does not have long time average. Widtsoe Ranger Station showed total catch 0.82" during March, last year 0.5". Escalante Summit, total catch of 2.91" comapred to 2.95" last year. |
