Show TROPIC TOPICS ELLA ADAIR Mr. and Mrs. "Royal Alvey made a trip to Salt Lake City Sunday to be with their daughter Carole Shakespear, while she underwent surgery on her foot and leg. -Members of the Better Homes Club met1 in the Home Ec. room Thursday night and finished their project; drapes for the newly remodeled Scout building. Mr. and Mrs. Malen Mecham, Mr. and Mrs. Ursel Ott, Mr. and Mrs. Melford Ahlstrom attended the funeral 'services for Glade Ahlstrom, a former Tropic resident, In Provo, Saturday. Glade was the youngest son of Frank and Rose Ahlstrom, formerly of Tropic. Ruth Marshall,,rand the George Wilsons attended the funeral services for Walter Marshall in. Salt Lake City Thursday last week. Burial was in the Marysvale cemetery. Fred Shakespears wife, and children visited with George Shakespear this past week. George was hapy to see his great grandchildren. Miss Joye Williams, of Brig-ham" Young University, is staying with the Alton Pollocks during her stay in Tropic. She is doing her student teaching in Home Economics) at the Bryce Valley High School. Marlln Francisco had his first birthday on February 6th. Kevin Shakespear, also celebrated his birthday on the 4th. Glen Jolley arrived in Salt Lake, City Feb. 14th returning home- from a two-year mission in the Eastern States. Clarence Jolley was in Tropic this past week. His mother Thelma Jolley returned home from Cedar City with him. She reports that her daughter, Shirley is slowly recovering f om injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Barbara Mecham enjoyed r. visit from her father recently. The Owen Barton family of Nevada, were in Tjopic for the weekend. They attended the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Sudweeks. Mr. and Mrs. Larvln Pollock and family, Mrs. Cecy Pollock and Kathryn tiouldlng spent the week-end In Salt Lake bid; ding David Pollock goodbye as he left by plane for his two-year mission in Chile. The W. H. Mangums are enjoying a visit this week with their daughter in - law, Jean Mangum, from Cedar City. Lyndon Sudweeks was home for the week-end. Several of the Tropic people attended a Temple excursion February 8th at St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Del Campbell, of Death Valley, were recent visitors at the Afton Pollock home. Speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday were: June Nelson, President Samuel Pollock and Mrs. Dee M. Haws.
