Show Wreckage of the automobile in which Gayle Pollock, 10, of Tropic met his death In accident on highway about a mile South of Tropic. Tropic Youth Killed As Car Goes Out Of Control On Turn Gayle Pollock Gayle Pollock, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Pollock of Tropic, was killed instantly about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5th, when the car that he was driving went out of control and then overturned on the highway about one mile south of Tropic. The youth was thrown from the car and died of a broken neck. LaVoy Shakespear, a companion in the car, received minor cuts and bruises as he was thrown to the bottom of the car. Ariel Fletcher and son Al- i ma were talking to the boys just a few minutes before the accident occurred and saw the car as it left the road. They went into Tropic for help and the two boys were taken to the Panguitch hospital by La Mar Shakespear, Tropic police officer. Gayle was born Dec. 19, 1944 in Panguitch, a son of Virgil and LaFaun Hatch Pollock. He graduated in 1963 from the Bryce Valley High School and was employed by CPI in Panguitch. Survivors: parents; brothers, sisters: Linda, Lorna, Gregg, Gordon, Marie, and Lorie Don; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hatch, Mrsi Ly-dia Pollock, Parley Pollock, of Tropic. Funeral services were held Oct. 8th in the Tropic ward chapel with Bishop Clive By-bee conducting. Family prayer was by Russell Wright. Prelude and post-lude music, Genevieve LeFevre; invocation, Lester Clark; song "Sometime We'll Understand", choir; speakers, Dar Smith and Edith Jolley; duet "Jesus Lover Of My Soul", James Munson and Leona Stewart; speakers, Bishops Mai-en Mecham and Clive Bybee; song "I Stand All Amazed", Viva and Malen Mecham and choir. Graveside prayer was by Ilan Pollock. |
