Show Escalante Chit Chat FAY ALVEY The blood hank was advertised for the North ward but It will be in the South ward church .and we would like at least 75 people between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Doctors Duggins and Kazan will be there and donors will be given free blood type- The weather warms up days but nights are cool. The mumps are still giving some a swell time, several little fellers had them on one side and were almost well then got them on the other. Lorin Cot-tarn is home and looking quite -like himself.- We never heard of any serious illness except Will R. Porter who is in a rest home in Lehi. DeRay and Lizzie went up to see him. The, opening of fishing season and Memorial Day brought so many people to town we cannot begin to name them but will mention some we talked to or someone told us about. Hulda Spencer came from Granger, son Kay Deuel and wife brought her and they were expecting to be joined by Verge and Osmyn. Several members of the Munson family, the Mother Hortense, Park and Laree Shurtz, Elhvood and Vaunda Willis and Dorthy Woolsey, daughter of Hal and Lasca. E-liza Mclnelly had son Grant and wife here from West Jor-don, and grandson Ira Allen and wife and another couple from Salt Lake. The Forest Al-veys had son LaDell and family of Kanab, Jane Woolsey and the Claron Barneys had Roe and Clema and kids from Page. The Malt Spencers had son Lael, Sharee and kids from Salt Lake. The Mikg Schows had son Ken and his son Nile. Delane and Lea Griffin and family came to see about their home and brought Lea's sister Jackie. Carter Ormond brought Donald Spencer home from Sandy Ranch for the weekend, Grant all ready had a full house, daughter Vicki, her husband Clement Davis and their small son are here, also Frank and Dcloa Savage and family of Provo. Martha Davis had all of her family here ; Red and Bertha Robison, Gene and Cleone Norton, Frank and No-nie Ott, all from the Salt Lake area, some of them had part of their families. The Hode Al-veys had Earl and Ilene Coff-man and children from Spring-ville. Earl and Nethella Woolsey had Howard and Marjie Shurtz, their daughter Patsy and her small son of Sacramento, Calif. From Green River came Homer and Earline Nelson and son Randy, son Bruce and wife Dorthy, daughter Caroline and her fiance, Richard Wilson of Hatch. From Layton, Klint Woolsev, his wife Margaret and th- ir five kids, and Neth-ella's b: other Clyde King. The ).owell Twitchells had Curtis Larsen and family here from Salt Lake. The Clyde Spencers had all of their family here except Jim and Janet. J. C. and family came from Mapleton, the Doug Looslees from Richfield and the Talm-age Taylors of Panguitch. The Alan Pollocks had son Guy and family of Richfield. Melvin Alvey and family went to Panguitch for Memorial Day and Florence brought back some souvenirs of France given her by her sister Mildred Deuel. Florence and the girls helped Melvin Wayne celebrate his 7th' birthday anniversary. The Wilford Listons had a weekend, visit from son Donald and family of Panguitch. William Mitchell came home with some members of his family; daughter Flora Marchant and Retha and Marion Lowder. LaFay Coleman came from Salt Lake and Mary Ellen went back with him for an appointment with her doctor. Wallace Roundy had Ralph and Wavie Siple and family of Idaho Falls. Donna Rae Barker and family of Monroe came and brought Valeree Mclnelly who has been there working. Elma Mclnelly came from Salt Lake and brought two girl friends. Vida Harrison of Idaho brought her mother, Mary Lyman home from Salt Lake. Helen Shurtz had a brief but enjoyable visit with two of David Ray's missionary companions who are released and going home to Phoenix, Arizona. David sent some South American cloth to Helen and the girls. Charley Bailey is not very well, he and Alice had daughters Helen Schow and Delia King home for the. weekend. Vivian Greaux and Betty Schow and Betty's baby, Jan visited relatives here. Martha Griffin and Lcla Barker got rid of all the old family relics and left for Oregon. The Glen Luellans moved into the home. The Arthur Mclnellys had Shcrril and Mary Davis and family here from Cedar City. Beryl and Retha Shurtz had son Carlyle, his wife and happy son from Midvale. The Dale Marshes had daughter Cathleen Woolsey and Virginia Bauer and son Danny of Cedar City. Garlan and Ruth Marie Mitchell came from Cedar to fish and visit, their small son fell and cut and bruised himself up considerably. They took him to Panguitch but the doctors were fishing so they had to take him on to Cedar City. Lester Heaps and some of his family visited at the Ronald Schow home. Hazel and Albert Carlton of Lehi visited the DeRny Porters. Clara Wooley and sons Owen and Leon and wives came from Orem. Fay and lizzie Porter from Salt Lake, Duane and Rhoda Barney and Maud Reynolds from Central. The (continued Inside) ESCALANTE (continued) Randal Lymans had daughter Joyce Woolsey and family from Cedar City. The CSU students were home but some of them had to go back for graduation. Lana Alvey had a visit from Tom Jordon of Calif. Stanley and Edna Griffin and his mother Elizabeth came from Salt Lake. The fish are too slick this year, too many of the big ones are getting away. Guile Deuel and Buck Lund caught the biggest one, it was so heavy it took their combined efforts to-land it, and they were both wearing their best set of muscles. Bernard Schow has really aged since he became Grandpa, he used to shear 160 head, of sheep a day, since the blessed event it took him four days to shear 34. , Lynn Mclnelly, Boyd Alvey, Lewis Brown Sr:, Red Meddlin and a Mr. Sanford went to Alaska to be gone eight moths. Several more will i go later. Alice and Marian Griffin and the newly weds, Joan) and Fernando Benito were here for the holiday, Alice looks good, and Marian is really- grown up. Ne-vin and Laura Sheldon and part of their family visited at the Spencer Haycock home. Deon Alvey and Areola Gates went to Panguitch for medical checkups. Bessie Barker Richardson and husband were here. The Lafayette Alveys of Washington and the Percell Alveys of Las Vegas. The Kay Lays and the Alfred Bakers. The Douglas Haycocks and the Reed Thompsons. Danny Harwick came for the graduation exercises of Susan Shurtz, his parents Roy and Verl came later. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Pollock and Ethyl came from Salt Lake. Lars and Rulon Peterson and Rulon's son Scott. Arden and Elva Barney and part of their family. |
