Show THE WORD FROM BOULDER BY ALICE ALVEY Stake Primary officers Elda Haws, Vera Davis and .Laura Baker all of Escalante were visitors at Primary on the 12th. Jim Haws and family of Salt Lake visited at the home of his sister, Fay Jepson. While he was here the Haws family had a birthday party for sister Ila Jepson. Lorin and Uvada Mopsman have grandson Keith with them for the summer'. Darwin and Conway Peterson were in town on business. LaRena Halls' sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Curly Garner, visited at her home a few days. Uncle Lafayette Alvey, wife Mary, and Aunt Susan Heaps visited at the home of the Arthur Alveys. Their son, Gayle Alvey, and daughter Neta Wooley and families visited with them also. Mrs. Alvey fell again and sprained her back a few days ago and isn't feeling too good. Marilyn Whltaker of Kearns is staying at the home of cousin Melanie Roundy. Franklin and Jean Hansen have come to Boulder to spend the summer. He Brought Gary , Malott with him last time to j visit his kids. j Dr. Perry Davis, wife Eth- j yl and John Davidson have ; been visiting at tho Mc Le- i Fevres. Mr. Davidson showed , pictures of Australia and Af- j rica which he took while he j was traveling there, to the j people here at the church ; house one evening. i Mc and Lenora received j word that Ralph Heinle fre- j quent visitor' from California ; had passed away after having i a cerebral hemorhage. The July 4th celebration j will be held on the 7th duo j to tho 4th coming in mid- j week. There will be a pro- gram in the morning at the ! church, horse races and rod- ; eo in the afternoon. Refresh- i ;ments will be sold. A dance will bo held In Escalante in the Gym. Proceeds will be used to pay for a microphone and stop watch. Dale Lyman and Dell Le-Fevrc have been helping Ivan Lyman gather cattle. The Neal jepson family spent a day In Cedar having dental care. Margie Griffin and LaRac Roundy and kids spent a few days in Page with Jerry Shurtz. Jerry and her two boys came back up for a while. Cathleen Alvey and Elvon Poulson came home from Salt Lake, there were no jobs available. There aren't any a-round here either. Mrs. Dorothy Lyman attended a Stake MIA meeting held at Bryce Canyon Sunday to help organize a branch of the M I A there. All the M I A .girls met at Peterson's Pond for a swimming party last "week.. They plan to hold classes" all summer. I don't know whether to say we're having warm weather or not it might be snowing in the morning. |
