Show BPW Birthday Parly An Outstanding Success The annual Birthday Party of the Business and Professional Woman's Club was held Wednesday evening, 29 members and 4 guests enjoyed a buffet supper, featuring roast, turkey with all the Uimmings. The tables were beautifully decorated in red and white and the birthday cake, shaped of three hearts, graced the head table. A single red candlo placed in a huge ball of divinity were used as individual favors. President Dolly Henrle presided at the business portion of the meeting. Club Collect led by Jane Brown, Pledge of Allegiance led by Wanda Davis. Committee chairmen reports were given by Hilda Gardner on the Heart Fund Drive and Ingra Richards gave out assignments on the BPW Convention. New members Kate Church and Lora Myers were welcomed into the club. The theme of the meeting was "Americanism" with Jean " Hansen giving the main talk of the evening. Pearl Henrie sang 6ang tw0 songs accompanied by Nina Steele ;Neucile Dodds and Marva Woodard sang two numbers accompanied by Linda Sue Tebbs; Mrs. Steele and Irene McEwen played a piano duet. A zany skit was presented, "Cross Your Bridge" with Mrs. McEwen as reader; players Included Eunice Duggins, , Leatha Moore, Elaine DeLong, Mrs. Steele and Dolly Henrie Hope Truman was the sounds effect woman, playing mood music and ringing door bells. Hostesses for the evening were Hilda Chidester, chairman, Tennys Houston and Ma- v ry Lee. |
