Show Arthur Cooper Gets Scholarship J. Arthur Cooper, foreign language teacher at Bonne-vllle High School in Ogden and son of Mr. and Mrs. Jed E. Cooper of Panguitch, has been awarded four graduate fellowships In Comparative Education. These fellowships pay tuition and fees plus a living allowance for three years of study leading to the Ph. D. degree. They are grant; ed by the U.S. Office of Edu-'cation, under provisions of the National Defense Education Act of 1958. The award has come to Ar thur from George Peabody College for Teachers at Nashville, Tennessee; Columbia University at New York City; University of ; Michigan at Ann Harbor; and University of California at Los Angeles. Although he has not yet decided which award to accept, he and his wife, the for-mer Carol Joy Shirts of Escalante, and their young son Chris are looking forward to three Interesting years atone of these institutions begin-,, ning next September. |
