Show TROPIC EIIa Adair March came Into Tropic liko a lion this year, blowing, blustering and with freezing temperatures. Several people have been confined to their homes with soro throats and swollen glands this past week. Th eRelief Society presented a special program Sunday evening. Talks were given by Orel Kay Allen, Flora LeFe-vre and Lowell Mecham; the musical selections were by the Singing Mothers. Mr. and Mrs. Whorten Allen attended a birthday party and dinner Sunday in Pan-guitch for his father, Earl Allen. A special 17th of March program is being prepared for the Tropic townspeople by the Relief Society. Eva Pollock received word of the death of her small nephew in Salt Lake. James and Hubert Munson were business visitors Saturday In Richfield. Ella Munson and Ann Shakespear had dental appointments. We have noticed Al Foster buzzing around in a new car. Otto and Areta Stewarf were home for the weekend. Areta reports that her parents are as well as can be expected. Ellis and Janet LeFevre and their children, of Babbitt, Nevada, have been visiting with their parents in Tropic and !Henrieville. Mrs. Viola Marshall returned with her son Franklin to stay awhile in Calif. The adult education sewing class held Wednesday evening at 7:30 is proving to be very successful. Anyone wishing to join may do so, there is no fee. Suzanna Wintch had a birthday on Feb. 23, Dar Smith had his the 27, Paul Mangum was 11 years old on March 2nd, and March 4 was the birthday of Claud Sud-weeks and Alton Shakespear. Had there been a Feb. 29th this year Lynn Allen would have had a birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Sud-weeks went to Escalante Sunday to visit their daughter Le-da' Pratt on her birthday. Stake Priesthood meeting was held here Sunday. Reed LeFevre was ordained an El- der and Charley Wintch a high priest. Tho Tropic Better Homes club will meet tonight in tho school building. Tho Orlan Colvins spent Sunday in Levan with the Vern Winter family. Norman J., son of Mr. and Mrs. Loral Barton, was blessed in Sacrament meeting. Alice Twitchell was a recent visitor In town. Mrs. Thelma Jolley and Lowell Mecham were in Cedar City last weekend, visiting and on business. Mr. and Mrs. John Mecham wero in Kanab recently on business; they also visited there with their daughter Del-la and family. The FHA held a home cooked food sale Saturday afternoon and will sponsor one in Cannonvillo this coming Saturday. All proceeds will go toward sponsoring of their trip to the Stale convenf ion in Salt Lake on the 14 and 15th. |
