Ted Chidester is home on furlough from Illinois. Two of his friends accompanied him to Panguitch and spent the weekend here before going on to Seattle,. Ted will report back to Merced, Wash, and his wife Shirley will go with him. Attending funeral services for Victor Showalter at Parowan Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Judd, Mrs. Ruth Henrle, Mrs. La Reta Worthen, Bill Bruhn, Chris Davis, Frank Daly, James T. Daly; also Mr. arid Mrs. Dwayno Henrle and Mr. and Mrs. Vernlle Gouldlng of Phoenix, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cllth-eroe of Provo, J. B. Clith- eroe of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Whitelock of Ogden spent the weekend here visiting and transacting business. Mrs. Frank Sevy returned home Sunday after a month's visit i n Ogden with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Prince. Claude Tebbs Adams, son of Mr.- and Mrs. Claude Adams, former Panguitch residents, was named second alternate to West Point by Senator Watklns. Claude, a grandson of Mrs.' Ruth Tebbs, is a student at the,U. of U. Mrs. RutbTebbs visited at Parowan Thursday with her daughter, Mrs. Claude Adams. Irene Thompson is, back at school after being confined to her home for a week with illness. Mr. and Mrs. Roland (Thompson, son of the John Thompsons, have been transferred to Loa after doing wiring work for the Western Electric Co. for a month in Beaver. The Homemakers Club met Wednesday of last week at the home of Mrs. Veda ' Young with Mrs. Young and Mrs. Lola Henrle as hostesses. Flora Bardwell gave a talk on Civil Defense. Mr, Tom Proctor and. son Max spent the weekend at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Crosby and baby daughter 'were recent visitors at Salt Lake on business.
