| Show WHAT A LADY SAID recently a highly cultured lady from southern california where nature is supposed to have lavished all her charms brigham city she with a co company of others was enjoying the novelty of a tour of the country in an expensive and high powered automobile and the party arrived here so that it was convenient for them to remain over night in strolling about the business district this ladys attention was instantly attracted to the court house grounds and especially to the two majestic white birch weeping willow trees which grace the front lawn she entered the gate and went from one tree to the other feeling their leaves and running their long and graceful branches through her hands she stood off at a distance and admired the symmetry of the trees and then sought out custodian korth to ask their names and where that variety could be procured the lady was more than taken up with the beauty of those trees and the grounds g generally she was so entranced that she boldly declared to mr korth that that never in all her travels about tre the country and she has been in all the beautiful places on this continent had she beheld two such splendid monarchs of the art tree variety as the white birches on the court house grounds she also stated that she was going to have two trees like them if they are to be had anywhere Iny where in the land and though the good lady did not expect to live to see them mature to the full beauty of these she declared that those who followed after her would enjoy the pleasure and she would have done something worth while to humanity by planting trees of that kind just one illustration of what the stranger thinks of brigham city by seeing our beautiful civic center all tourists who pass through this city and see the city and county grounds I 1 go away with a very pleasing impression of brigham city for this reason therefore as well as for scores of other reasons every tourist and traveler who passes through this city headed in any direction whatever should be routed by the court house grounds and in order that this might be done all cache valley traffic should pass along east forest and main alain streets there would be the added attraction of the beautiful high school and grounds and the stranger would get a fairly comprehensive viewpoint of the city it is manifestly unfair to brigham city to divert traffic ic to cache valley over any route that will prevent the travelers from seeing the civic center which comprises the city and county grounds and the city parking on forest street |
