Show s Panguitch Lake A Fisherman's Paradise As Fishing Season Opens The weather was perfect, the lake was smooth, the fish were, biting, and everyone had a good time. that in a nutshell is the story of opening day of fishing at Panguitch Lake. It was an angler's paradise. Those who weren't careful in watching the weight limit and only concentrated on the number limit wound up m trouble. The trout were big and fat, running about six 01 seven to the weight limit. At any time of the day wnen a count of boats on the lake was attempted the tally ran over four hundred. It Is estimated that there were close to seven hundred boats at the lake many of them making more than one trip to spott where the fish were biting. .Resort owners report reservations "full up" for the next three or four weeks. Something not seen before was the number o f camps which sprang up along the shores of the lake, some ot them were regular little villages of trailers, tents, and bedding equipped pickups. The crowd was exceptionally well-behaved,, game violations were few considering the number of anglers. At this time of the day there were almost as many boats in dock changing parties as there were on the lake. was well run, with no violations of the county's new boat regulating ordinance No. 42 being reported. |
