Show j CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT A JOINT RESOLUTION PROPOSING TO AMEND SECTIONS 2, 3 AND 4 OF ARTICLE IX OF THE CONSTITUTION OF UTAH UY CHANGING THE CONSTI-l l'UTION OF THE LEGISLATURE X MAKING EACH COUNTY OF t THE STATE A SENA'IOT'AL DISTRICT, BY REAPPORTIONING REPRESENTATIVES AMONG THE SEVERAL COUN-TIES OF THE STATE ACCORDING TO THE 1950 CENSUS, AND I1Y AUTHORIZING THE LEGISLATURE TO DECREASE AS WELL AS INCREASE THE NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES. De it resolved by tho legislature of the State of Utah, two-thirds of oil members elected to each house concurring therein: Section 1. It is proposed to amend Sees. 2, 3 nnd 4 of Article IX of the Constitution of Utah to read: Section 2. The Legislature shall provide by law for an enumeration of the inhabitants of the State, A. D. 1905, and every tenth year thereafter, and at the session neat following such enumeration, and also at the session next following s nn enumeration made by the au- thoiity of the United States, shall i revise and adjust the apportion- I mcnt for representatives on the I b.isis of such enumeration to I ratios to be fixed by law. I Section 3. The Senate shall con- k sist of one member from each coun- K ty of the State, and the House of r Representatives of seventy-five members. The Legislature may Increase or decrease the number of representatives, but the number of representatives shall never be less than twice nor greater thsn three times the number of senator. Section 4. Each county of the state shall constitute a senatorial district. REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICTS. Until otherwise provided by law, representatives shall be apportion-p.i among tho several counties of the State n follows: Provided, That in an; future apportionment made by lha Legislature, each county shall be entitled to at least ono representative. The County of Rox Elder shall " constitute the First Representative District, nnd be entitled to two renreaentatives. The County of Sevier shall constitute the Eighteenth Representative District, and be entitled to one representative.
