| Show progressing the water works system which the ro yown 11 ot of mantua Is installing is fast ale hearing rang completion engineer ac K C wright states slates that by july first the system will be installed ins with house con connections made to every homo home which wants it tle the writer walked over part ot of the line yesterday afternoon and saw the work under tinder way this morning the coil corti tractor actor began connecting the pipe fro ll 11 the cement pressure regulation tank to the town the pipe Is 13 all laid from tile the supply spring to the pressure tank excepting about two hundred teet feet the line is approximately a mile and a halt half long over all and is capable of developing feet pressure because of 0 this tremendous pressure it was necessary to install a regulation tank midway on oil the line willell which has a capacity ot of gallons or enough water ater to supply the town three days the feed spring is located three iuar teis of 0 a mile south of 0 this tank and from the spring to the tank lank the water has a foot head F from rout tha tank to the town mains the distance is another three quarters ot of a mile and the head will lie be feet which is about right the big regulation tank will bo cemented sides bottom and top so that thai nothing can get into it except through the manholes which will project through the earth covering several feet at the intake a regulation box will be installed so that when nhen the reservoir is filled the water will ruu oft off through an averil overflow ow pipe down the hill side at any time when it may be necessary to flush out the tank at this same intake box bos the water can be diverted into a run around pipe which traverses around the outside of the basin and connects with the malti main feed pipe at the other end and alm the town water users will not be deprived of their avater water supply I 1 W bi 1 ac til eytalis is being fl flushed out loftt r e ohp main ti the tank to the file town is tour four inches in iii diameter and it will be burled buried in a trench four feet deep when tile alie system is completed mantua will wili have one of the finest water systems in the country and tills this improvement will be one of the greatest blessings that ever came to the community |
