Mrs. Viola Burton, bookkeeper at the Bank of Garland, Is off ; on a vacation and Is visiting relatives and friends in Salt Lake City this week. Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Petterson and children returned Monday from Soda Springs, Idaho, where they have been on an outing for 'the past two months or mofe. Mrs. Eph Coombs, who hat been to the National Yellowstono Park on an outing with relatives, rela-tives, returned home Monday, having had a very pleasant time. Bnrber L. B. White and wife of Twin Falls, Idaho, stopped over In Garland Monday to say "hello" to friends. They were enrouto to Santaquin to visit relatives re-latives and friends there. Peter A. Hauck of Montpecller Idaho, brother Of Mrs. J. A. Wixom, who recently returned from overseas duty, accompanied accompani-ed by his wife, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wixom Tuesday. Mrs. Lorenzo Smith went to Salt Lake Saturday last to visit her husband who recenly under- ' went an operation at the L. D. 8. Hospital. She returned Tuesday Tues-day and reports Mr. Smith on the improve. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Innoi of Ogden, parents of Dr. T. W. Inn-es, Inn-es, accompanied by Mrs. James George, motored to Garland last Sunday and spent a few days of this week here. Mrs. George is carrying her arm In a sling as the result of a fall she received in Ogden while picking apples. She also sustained injury to her hip in the fall. It will be several months before she will be able to use her hand and arm. Mrs. Mario Wing has moved Into the Evans brick homo on the corner of Austin street and Evans avenue where she will conduct a lodging house for the accommodation of the general public. Houses or rooms to be RENTED IN GARLAND arc all out of the question so Mrs. Wing ought not to have any trouble in keeping her lodging house well filled. Contractor John F. Schravem accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Gundry and Mr. A. C. Grundy of Salt Lake City, and Miss Hilda Hansen of Brigham City, stopped over in Garland for about an hour Thursday morning on a return fishing trip to Idaho. Mr. Schraven is the contractor who erected the Garland school building and he was here Just long enough to say "hello" to a number of his Garland friends. This Is an ideal time of the year not too hot, neither too cold. A convention of Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. superintendents, foremen fore-men and other officers and employes em-ployes of the company was held at Lehi and Saratoga Springs Wednesday of this week. Among Am-ong thoso who attended the convention from the Garland Sugar factory were Supt Charlie Char-lie Edwards, Assistant Supt David Dorton, Foreman C. H. Hales and wife, Foreman Albert Hales, Foreman Jos. H. Klrk-ham Klrk-ham and wife, Foreman Eugeno Bone, Engineer J. W.
