Show I Jack O' I ' Diamonds. I Mutual Dramatic Co. I Makes a "Hit" in 1 the Presentation off I this Popular Drama. 1 The Globo takes pleasure in 1 saying good things about Homo I Dramatic companies and it is 1 a sourse of satisfaction to note I that threo-fourths of the trave- I ling troups that visit our town I might do well to pattern after I home companies and save con- I sidcrable criticism. 1 Wo aro safe in saying that 1 the bunch of amateurs who took part in the presentation of I "Jack 0' Diamonds" at tho I hall last Saturday night, could I tour Amorica from Now York I to the Coast and win a home in 9 every town. 1 Tnomas Rampton as "Jack 0, Diamonds" and N. C. Mort-ensen Mort-ensen as Daniel Peabody, the whole-souled gambler, couldn't be beat by professionals of a half life time oxponence and I.o ever saw a "bum,""tramp,, or "tender-foot" that could hold a candle to Old Pop, .the Outcast, as roprescnten by M. M. Rampton, the whirlwind. Now, Felix Baird isn't to bo sneered at as a villian, and ho , certainly mado a cracker-jack fy as a lover and wo wonldn't blame any girl for running away with him. Talk about your old Mexican Greasers, why, wo hardly hard-ly knew Fred Rogors and im-mngincd im-mngincd that we were down in j Texas near the Moxican lino. A Florida "Coon," well Baxter ( must have been there on a mission or did a whole lot of B practicing. As a bar tender and landlord, ho certainly know how to ran tho business and set up the drinks. Say, that Old Maid Cordelia was a "hummer." Whoever thought Alico Grover likod the men so well as to allow a fellow like Peabody to hug hor. Sho enjoyed being hugged, too, but it took Mr. Peabody an awful long timo to convert her, but his patienco proved an everlasting ever-lasting reward. Speaking seriously, seri-ously, Mrs. J. R. Konnard as Annie Donnison, tho falsely accused wife, certainly played hor roll in splondid stylo and was ably supported by her daughters 1st, Miss Lucile Lant as Little Leona and later Mrs. Geo. F. Grover as Leona Diamond. A crowded houso greeted tho company both at tho afternoon matinee and tho evening performance. per-formance. Every reserved seat for the ovoning performance was sold at 4 p. m in the afternoon. after-noon. The company presented tho same play at Plymouth last night and will reproduce the show hero next Monday night for the benefit of tho Garland Amusomont hall. Widows and Missionaries' wives go in free. Tuesday night, March 15th, the company goes to Bothwell to play to a crowded houso. We hope the company will take tho show to Brigham and Malad. |
