Show BOWERS DIES SUDDENLY. Solicitor General of United States Passes Away After Brief Illness. Boston. Solicitor General Lloyd W. Bowers died hero -at 11:30 a. m. Friday Fri-day of complications arising from an attack of bronchitis. The solicitor general had been ill about two weeks. Mr. Bowers was appointed solicitor general by President Taffon Marca 22, 1009. Tho appointment was one of tho first official acts of Mr. Taft as president, ho having longiold Mr. Bowers In high regard. Tho solicitor general was ono of the men known to have been In tho mind of tho president for appointment to fill one of the existing ex-isting vacancies on tho Unitod States supremo court bench. Mr. Bowors was born at Springfield, Mass., March 9, 1859. |
