Denver, Colo. Tho forest flro that has been raging on Big Chief and Sheep mountains, In Jefferson county Is now under control. M. D. McEnlry, chief of tho Colorado Colo-rado division of tho United States land office, who has been directing the work on Big Chief mountain, returned to Denver Thursday night with twenty of the men taken from here to fight the flro. Tho fifty men sent to reinforce tho flro fighters from Denver Thursday morning will remain at tho flro until It Is completely extinguished. ex-tinguished. Suspicion has been aroused that the fires wero started by settlers In tho vicinity of tho burned district. The names of two men suspected are known to Mr. McEnlry, but ho has refused re-fused to disclose them. This theory was strengthened whon rangers dis covered a fresh lire which had broken out In a section which they had just patroled.
