Show Women Fishermen. On the coast of Holland, Belgium and Northern Franco the flnlierwomen aro n familiar sight, with their groat hand nets and quaint costumes. Many of tho towns have distinctive costumes by which their womon can he recognized recog-nized anywhere. Thoso of Mana-IClrke, near Ostend, wear trousors and loose blouses, while their heads and shoulders shoul-ders are covered by shawls. They carry their nets Into tho soa and scoop up vast quantities ot shrimps and prawns, with an occasional crab or lobster and many small fish. They often wado out till tho water Is up to their necks, and they remain for hours at a time In water above thelrnknees, rarely returning until their basketa aro full. |
