The ngreoment between tho union nnd tho Consolidated company states that tho men nro to havo two lockers, side by side, ono for street nnd ono for mlno clothes; that they shall take off their street clothes when going on shift, put them In tho locker and lock the same before donning their other garments, tho operation to ho reversed when going off shift. Tho company Is privileged to have a timekeeper and ono moro watchman In the room, who nro to ho neutral and not required to bo members' of nny labor organization, but such membership Is not to disqualify disquali-fy a mnn for such position. It Is agreed that no mnn who Is particularly obnoxious to tho union for good cause shall bo employed nB watchman. Mlno managers and superintendents, assay-ers, assay-ers, chemists and all men employed In tho furnnco, parting nnd weighing room or Inbortory, mlno surveyors and civil and mining engineers, watchmen and employes of independent contractors contrac-tors engaged In tho placing of machinery, ma-chinery, delivery of supplies, erection of buildings or othor surfneo work not directly mining In character, aro not required to belong to tho Western Federation, It being required that tho company Insert In nil contract j a clause, requiring tho contractors to pay tho tho established rato of wages nnd to employ nono hut members of a regular labor organization. |
